Ignacio Middle School

Ignacio Middle School is a traditional school that has been classified as a turnaround school, this is likely due to the high turnover rate of teachers within the building. It has consistently been trying to improve its performance.  It does this by now focusing heavily on reading and writing while leaving history and science on the backburner.  Ignacio Middle School is a very diverse school, and the school tries to acknowledge other cultures by allowing the tribe and other culturally diverse groups come into the school to perform native dances and other displays of culturally relevant ideals. They have a new building which has a plethora of open learning spaces.  Socioemotional learning is also a top priority in the building.  While Ignacio isn’t a top performing school by any means, they are doing everything in their power to turn it around.
